# Clients

The Clients tab holds the companies you do work for, their contacts, and their requirements (purchase order numbers and inductions). Each client also gets a Job Booking Portal link they can use to send you booking requests.

To open it, go to **Resources** → **Clients**. Adding and editing clients depends on your [access level](/getting-started/user-access-levels.md).

## The client list

| Column              | What it shows                                                       |
| ------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Client Name** | Hover the ⓘ icon to see the client's notes. |
| **Primary Contact** | The contact marked as primary. |
| **Other Contacts**  | The client's other contacts.                                        |
| **Booking Link** | The client's **Job Booking Portal** link, with a button to copy it. |
| **PO# Req?** | Whether the client needs a purchase order number on jobs. |

Type in the boxes under the column headings to filter the list. Use the controls at the bottom to page through the list and choose how many clients to show per page.

The toolbar has **Export to Excel**, **Export Mailing List** (the client contacts) and **Add Client**.

## Add a client

1. Click **Add Client**.
2. Enter the **Client Name** (required).
3. Tick **Purchase Order Number Required?** if the client needs a PO number on their jobs.
4. Add any **Notes**.
5. If the client requires site inductions, tick **Induction(s) required?** and describe them under **Induction Requirements**.
6. Under **Contact Details**, click **Add New Contact** for each contact and enter:

   * **Full Name**, **Phone** and **Email**
   * **Invoice?** – tick if this contact receives invoices
   * **Primary?** – tick for the main contact
   * **Notes**

   Use **Delete Contact** to remove a contact.
7. Click **Save**.

## Job Booking Portal

Each client has their own **Job Booking Portal** link. Copy it with the button next to the link and send it to the client so they can submit booking and quote requests online.

Who receives these requests is set under Job Booking Portal in [Notifications](/eboard/settings/notifications.md).

## Xero

If you use Xero, you can link clients to Xero contacts, or import Xero contacts as new clients. See [Xero integration](/eboard/settings/xero-integration.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.roaddirect.co.nz/eboard/resources/clients.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
